Families and businesses in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and nearby towns now have to make do with whatever water they have on hand amid rolling shutoffs that last for 48 hours at a time.

A water crisis in Puerto Rico has reached a fever pitch as the U.S. territory will implement rationing measures amid a drought with no relief in sight.

Meta says it will appeal the order by a New Mexico judge that said the social media giant has to pay close to one billion dollars to address how its apps have contributed to harm to children.

In a landmark ruling against Meta, a New Mexico judge likened the company’s social media platforms to factories.

A jury in March had already found Meta liable on all counts in a trial on child safety, including willfully engaging in “unfair and deceptive” and “unconscionable” trade practices.
