Morgan Scalley, who was announced as Utah’s next head coach on Dec. 12, will take over immediately and coach the Utes against the Nebraska Cornhuskers in the Las Vegas Bowl, with Whittingham on the Michigan sideline in the Citrus Bowl against the Texas Longhorns.
According to multiple reports, Kyle Whittingham is expected to join Michigan immediately, leaving Utah immediately before their Las Vegas Bowl.

Michigan finalized a deal on Friday with Utah's Kyle Whittingham to make him the next head coach of the Wolverines. Whittingham had been the head coach of the Utes since 2005, but served as their defensive line coach in 1994 and as defensive coordinator from 1995-2004. He coached under Urban Meyer before taking over as head coach.
