Caught a scammer trying the classic cashier’s check trick. They mailed me a fake cashier’s check, told me to deposit it, wait for it to “clear,” then Zelle part of the money to their “other vendor.” My bank showed it cleared… but I called the issuing bank and they confirmed it was never issued. If I had sent money out, I’d be on the hook for the full amount. Sharing this so nobody else falls for it.
